Aperçu is a new sans-serif typeface designed by Brighton (UK) based studio The Entente. It contains a full family of Light, Light Italic, Regular, Regular Italic, Medium, Medium Italic, Bold, Bold Italic and Mono-spaced.
Aperçu was started in December 2009, and has been trialled and tested through a number of design comissions taken on by The Entente through 2010.
The conceit behind Aperçu was to create a synopsis or amalgamation of classic realist typefaces: Johnston, Gill Sans, Neuzeit & Franklin Gothic. It comes complete with a full upper & lowercase and latin character set in Open Type format, with proportional, tabular and super-scripted numbers.
Also known as Apercu for ease of use.
